Why We Think Transparent Pricing Should Be the Industry Standard, Not a Selling Point

Most security and solar companies operating in Kenya list their brands, show glossy installation photos, and then ask you to call or WhatsApp for a price. We think that's a genuinely bad default for buyers, and we've deliberately built our pricing pages the opposite way, listing real installed prices by plot size and system capacity before anyone has to pick up a phone.

The Argument Against "Contact Us for a Quote"

Hiding pricing behind a phone call is sometimes framed as necessary because every site is different. That's partly true, site conditions do affect final cost, but it's used far more often as a sales tactic than as an honest reflection of pricing complexity. Requiring a phone call before revealing any number lets a salesperson gauge what a buyer seems willing to pay before naming a figure, and it makes it much harder for a buyer to compare three quotes side by side without three separate phone conversations, each trying to get a commitment before competitors are consulted.

For a first-time buyer who doesn't know what a fair price for an electric fence or a solar backup system even looks like, this asymmetry works entirely in the seller's favour.

What We Publish Instead

On our services pages we list real installed pricing by plot size for electric fencing, by system capacity for solar backup, and by bay count and fabric grade for car parking shades. A visitor can see, before ever contacting us, roughly what their project will cost.

This doesn't eliminate the need for a site survey. Final pricing on anything nonstandard, an irregular plot, a complex roof, a commercial multi-bay shading structure, still requires a visit. But it means the buyer starts that conversation from an informed position instead of a blind one.

Why Warranty Support Matters More Than the Lowest Price

We'd extend the same argument to warranty terms. A cheaper quote with no clear warranty commitment isn't actually cheaper, it's a price with an unpriced risk attached. If an energiser board or an inverter fails eighteen months in, the real cost of the original "cheap" quote includes whatever it takes to get it fixed with no supplier support behind it. We think warranty terms deserve the same transparency as the sticker price, stated clearly, in writing, before a deposit changes hands, not negotiated after something breaks.

None of this is a claim that transparent pricing alone makes a company trustworthy. It's one piece of evidence a buyer can actually verify before committing money, which is more than a phone-only quote gives you.
