Wall-Top Electric Fence Installation, Karen
Karen, Nairobi
Project Photos

Project Overview
This Karen property backs onto a stand of mature gum trees, with a long stretch of light-coloured corrugated boundary wall running the length of the plot. The client wanted the existing wall upgraded with a live wire deterrent rather than replacing the wall itself, a common, cost-effective way to add serious perimeter security to a wall that's already structurally sound.
Elatec's team fitted wall-top angle brackets along the full boundary run, carrying multiple horizontal strands of galvanised fence wire spaced for maximum deterrent effect. Each bracket was fixed and aligned to keep the wire strands taut and level along the natural contour of the wall, including around an established tree trunk close to the boundary line; the fence line was routed to keep clearance from the trunk while maintaining full electrical continuity.
The energizer was wired and earthed to deliver a firm, non-lethal pulse across the full wire run, turning a standard block wall into an active perimeter that alerts and deters rather than simply blocking view and access. As with all Elatec electric fence installations, the system was tested end-to-end for correct output voltage before handover.
Project Journey
Site Survey
Boundary wall length, tree obstructions, and mounting points assessed to plan bracket spacing and wire routing.
Bracket Installation
Wall-top angle brackets fitted along the full perimeter run, aligned for consistent wire tension.
Wiring & Energizer Setup
Multi-strand galvanised wire installed, tensioned, and wired back to the energizer with proper earthing.
Testing & Handover
Output voltage tested across the full fence line before handover to the client.
