3kW Solar Backup System Installation, Kiambu
Kiambu
Project Photos

Project Overview
This Kiambu household wanted full backup power that switches in automatically the moment the grid drops, covering lights, router, TV, and everyday appliances through Kenya's frequent outages without the noise and fuel cost of a generator.
Elatec installed monocrystalline solar panels on the home's roof, wired down to a MUST solar hybrid inverter fitted with an AVS30 automatic voltage source controller, which manages the switch between grid, solar, and battery power automatically. Below the inverter, a bank of Luminous Inverlast 200Ah tall tubular batteries was racked and wired to store the system's backup capacity.
With panels, inverter, controller, and battery bank all installed and commissioned as one system, the household now has an automatic 3kW backup supply that keeps essential circuits running through outages, drawing first on solar generation and battery reserve before ever needing grid power to top up.
